Steve Viglione is the Founder and CEO of The I AM Foundation in San Diego/La Jolla, CA, whose mission is gifting educational books and music to children and adults worldwide. He is loving Dad to Alexia 15 and Tyler 13. Steve is married to Dr. Marilyn Powers, a dynamic and loving woman who is dedicated to him in so many ways. She is also dedicated to the mission of The I AM Foundation and is a strong supporter of Steve's vision for it.

Steve is a student of Ernest Holmes and The Science of Mind which he discovered at 16 years of age while living in Boston where he is from originally.  The New Thought Movement gives Steve the spiritual nourishment and a spiritual family which is home for him. He is commited to making a contribution to the evolution of humanity and making the world a better place for generations to come.

He is an author of three books. His third book is entitled The I AM!  Affirmation Book published in 2001 has 106,000 copies in print in five different languages; English, Spanish, Tamil, Sinhalese (for Sri Lanka) and Italian.  I AM! was written to help inspire children and build their self-esteem. It is a tool to help them remember who they are and to value and love themselves so they may love and value others. 

Founded in 1998, The I AM Foundation has gifted and distributed over 650,000 life changing books and products to children around San Diego, the U.S. and the world.  Steve's vision continuously unfolds and grows through this worldwide organization that gifts inspirational books and music. Books of all kinds that promote literacy and build self-esteem are gifted to and from the foundation to schools and organizations around the world.

In 2006, Steve and The I AM Book Gifting Team were invited to Sri Lanka to gift books to the children of the tsunami by the Consul General Jeff Goonewardena and President of the country.

Amal, Jeff Goonewardena from World Relief and Steve and Marilyn from The I AM Foundation gift I AM Affirmation books and school supplies to kids affected by the tsunami.


They met the First Lady of Sri Lanka and through a contact on Zaadz met Professor Gregg Wareham, the principal of All Nations International School. They gifted thousands of books to Gregg's School through The MIllion Books for Kids Campaign. All total The I AM Foundation gifted over 70,000 books to children of Sri Lanka in partnership with The World Relief Organization.

Some of the other countries who receive books include Denmark, Canada, Vietnam, Australia, Great Britain, New Zealand, Africa, Israel, Palestine, Mexico, Italy, France, China, The Philippines and Nepal.  The I AM Foundation is based in San Diego and is currently gifting books to a wide variety of channels such as the San Diego school system, national nonprofits, charter schools, hospitals, military bases, libraries, prisons, fraternal organizations and corporations without any cost.

In May 2003, Steve received the Citizen of The Year from the San Diego Phi Delta organization for being a “Friend to Education.”   In May of 2005, Steve received an award certificate from the San Diego County Office of Education, AVID program.
